Training

In rural and developing areas, most babies have been brought into this world with the help of traditional birth attendants, commonly known as “TBAs”. However, many countries are replacing TBAs with trained midwives to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates. Project EMBRACE is helping to improve women’s chances by training TBAs and midwives on better, more hygienic procedures.

TBAs are highly respected members of their communities. ADRA has partnered with local organizations to train TBAs as health advocates and promoters. By doing so, ADRA is helping every child and their mothers not only survive but thrive!
