Through the EMBRACE project, parents and caregivers are being trained on the importance of health and nutrition. A general lack of nutritional knowledge, poverty, and insufficient health care all contribute to children who are stunted, underweight, and are not able to later reach their full potential in school.

Working with local health workers and community volunteers ADRA has been identifying children at risk and teaching their families how to safeguard their health.

Project participants are also taught how to grow fruits and vegetables close to their homes in kitchen gardens and are also shown through cooking demonstrations how to prepare nutritious meals using locally available ingredients and energy-efficient cooking methods.
